Am I Here?

Am I Here?

Part of a series of works including Am I here? and Rivers of Thought sound installation. I walked in the brook from Millers Farm to Soudley, sometimes up to my chest in water, recording the sounds of my movement through the fast flowing water. The recording accompanied a large paper installation at Brewery Arts Theatre in Cirencester.

Terminus Project  Two sites, South Island New Zealand

Three wire mesh vessels contain unreadable text, stream of consciousness writings - Secrets from my father. They are pods placed on the tide line, sealed containers of memory, secrets, dreams, anger, love....unopenable. I imagined those immigrant women arriving in a strange land with all their baggage, impenetrable, filled with loss, fear, dreams, memories.

Trying to Remember Allan Salo

Trying to Remember Allan Salo

Still from the short film Trying to Remember Allan Salo - A Meditation on Forgetting  2007

I stayed in an artist's studio in the woods near Pirkkala as part of Pirkkala Sculpture 07. Allan Salo, a painter, had died 30 years before but his studio was as if he had never left. The film is an attempt to find him and is as much about his as any artist's life. We all live and work, hoping to make sense of the life we experience and to be remembered. The reality is maybe that there is no sense and that we are forgotten
